RAP TA efforts in terms
of capacity building include support for the preparation of a detailed
implementation plan for Rural Transport Infrastructure maintenance
SWAp(Sector Wide Approach)for piloting in seven districts. DTMP preparation
of pilot SWAp districts and approval of the DTMP manuals by the DoLIDAR
are the two significant tasks, which will help to develop sustainable
rural road networks. Meanwhile work on the seven SWAp pilot districts
ARMP preparation is ongoing and is expected to complete by the end
of December 2010.
Technical
support to the programme District Development Committees and District
Technical offices in planning, designing and implementation of sub
projects under supplementary infrastructure components and approach
on RAP1 roads maintenance is envisaged to enhance institutional
capacity building of district level agencies.
Training on rural road construction
and road maintenance to the representatives of Rural Roads Maintenance
User Committees of all RAP1 road corridors is accomplished.
Likewise, community level
awareness raising training on HIV / AIDS and gender sensitisation
and RBG household level training on group and group conflict management,
leadership, saving and credit, cooperatives, participatory planning
and monitoring, construction work measurement and wage payment are
some of the capacity building efforts at the community levels. Details
