| Purpose and method |
| With
an aim to analyse the RAP1 roads vehicle usage and maintenance conditions
traffic surveys are conducted every month and the estimated total
travelling speed for a 4-wheel drive vehicle is measured to give some
indication of road condition.. |

The average speed of vehicles of most road corridors is comparatively low. For earthen roads in good condition in mountainous regions the average speed would be approximately 25 km/hr. |
